My Favorite Places

I took this picture while in the mountains this year

Ft Myers Beach, Spring Break- Junior Yr

on top of the silo in New Knoxville, OH

This is a picture from Piedmont Park. A park that is in midtown.

The other day I was driving home and it actually took me almost a hour to get home. It usually takes me 30 mins. to get home. Traffic was unbelievable and then to top it off I was very tired. I just wanted to get home and eat dinner. Then it happened to me.... I was feeling the city life and heard a trumpet playing and the leafs were blowing. It was like a scene in a movie. I have always loved being in the city as a kid. When my family lived in New Jersey we would go to Atlantic City or Philadelphia. I loved being there and seeing the business people moving quickly and the mentality of being on the go. I was in Midtown which I think looks like downtown.
The high skyscrapers with the unbelievable architecture.

And then on the other hand I love the country. My favorite place is on top of the silo at the Henschen farm in New Knoxville, OH. I feel at peace there. I love looking at God's creation.

My favorite places to be on the earth:
standing in the middle of the city hearing the city life
sitting on the silo at the Henschen Farm
sitting on the beach while the sun is rising
standing on top of a mountain

What can you say my mother exposed me to the different types of environments!!!

So enjoy this beautiful fall weather!!

Well I will post something else soon!
Love ya,
Amanda

Fall in Tenn

Hey everyone!!
I was able to go home last weekend. I went home for my mother and sisters birthday, and the mission conference at Temple Baptist Church. The mission conference is my favorite conference there. I love the excitement about serving the Lord in a different country. I love to hear about the mission stories of others. I love the village.
Some people keep asking me why I go back to Tenn so much. Well I miss home alot. It is took alot of me to move to Atlanta, GA. I love to go home but this past visit God spoke to me about going home. I do not need to go home as much. When I go home things have changed alot, that I am so lost in somethings. I need to stay away from Tenn so that people actually know that I am gone and to give them time to miss me.
I am trying to stay away from Tenn until Thanksgiving or even Christmas. I need to step out and do this without running back home.
Please pray for me as I try this.......

Well now that I got that off my chest....
I had a great time at home with Cathy and JoHanna Tangerman.
We went to the Smokey Mountains on Saturday. I loved being in God's creation. It was so peaceful to be up there with good friends like them. We would sometimes randomly go into song, I loved that part.

Well here are some pics.

The Lord's Blessings

dear friends and family
i know i haven't wrote on here about my life in atlanta yet but that is coming soon.....
i wanted to write about the Lord's blessings that he has given me. have you ever just sat down and thought about that before? have you ever written them all out? i know that if you wrote them all out, you would probably be sitting there forever and ever.
i have been having a hard time with the transition of moving to atlanta, but a wise friend told me that i need to look at the blessings that God had given me, don't look at the bad side of it and it is how i react to the problem, that the Lord will work in my life.
i wanted to sit down and actually write some of my blessings down. i am only writing about the ones that first come to my mind. i encourage everyone to actually sit down and write down those blessings that come first to your mind. it makes you cherish so much more.

1. my salvation- i have no doubt in my heart that i am saved and i am going to heaven, AMEN.

2. my family- at least i have a mother and father that felt the love in their heart to adopt me. i have grandparents that love me so much. he also has given me other families that are not actually mine. the families have welcomed me into their families.

3. my church- the Lord has moved me from Tennessee to Atlanta, so that I can go to People's Baptist Church. i love this church now, it is my church home that believes in the bible and stands up for it

4. my friends- i am so greatful for the friends that the Lord has put in my life. he always seems to put them in front of me when i need them the most. i can think of countless times that he puts a certain person in front of me when i know that she will encourage me to do what is best. sometimes i do not know how i would have gotten through it without them.

5. the Lord's will for my life- i am so happy that he has a path for me

6. college- i am so happy that he has blessed the way for my college education. i did not get myself through college, the Lord got me through college.

7. a job- my job has enabled me to live a life that i do not deserve. the job enables me to have the money to do things that i would not imagine myself doing such as paying rent, food on the table, paying to get my car fix, and be able to help others.

8. another day- i am so happy that i am able to see another day.

I know that there are countless blessings that I could talk about but I felt that I needed to share this with my friends and family.
I think the mind boggling puzzle for me is that I do not deserve any of this at ALL.

Well this was on my mind and has been for a while. I hope all enjoy.

Love
Amanda

p.s i will try to write more on here, if time permits

More Pics

Hey everyone greetings from ATL!!!!
So I have gotten lost all week long but it is okay because in the long run I will remember where to go later on. On Wednesday night I went to People's Baptist Church to visit. I really enjoyed hearing David McCoy's preaching. The message spoke to my heart and was an encouragement to me.
Other than that nothing else is new with me. I really miss my family and friends in Tennessee. I enjoy hearing familiar voices and if I could see familiar faces that would be awesome too. :(
Well here are more pictures from last weekend.

Last Weekend In Knoxville, TN

Yesterday I said my final goodbyes in Campbell County (home). The past weekend was a great time with some of my good friends. I was excited to spend time with Cathy Henschen. It was really hard to say good bye to her especially because of knowing her for a long time.
Well we made the best of our time together this weekend.

First we went to the last night of the Youth Congress and watched the fireworks. Then we went on the movie hunt for Finding Nemo.

Next we went on our usual visitation on Saturday morning for our Karns bus route. I love spending Saturdays with her because we always lose track of time and just go with the flow.

We went to an authentic Asian grocery store. It was so much fun.

Then on Saturday night my friends had a surprise going away party for me and Nicole Sitter.
It was nice..

It was a great weekend. I will post more pictures later.

Moving to ATL

Hey everyone,
Sorry for the delay of the postings. I have been pretty busy with a trip to Ohio and moving stuff down to ATL.
My trip to Ohio was fun because I got to see my old best friend from Ohio. She lives in Michigan now so I don't get to see her that much. We went to Cedar Point with her brother and a girl from my old church. It was a great time. I will post pictures later from that trip.

Yesterday I moved my stuff down to ATL. My grandparents came and helped. My grandfather is a genius. He brought down a truck and he packed it full of my stuff and things that they were giving me for my apt. It was a real blessing to have my grandparents' help with this move.

Here is a picture of the truck. It was really funny because my grandfather said he felt as he was Jed Clampett from Beverly Hillbillies because of it being so high up.

I am back in Knoxville till Monday afternoon. I wanted the weekend and the rest of the week to say some good byes. Tomorrow is my last day at McDonalds, it is a sad time because it is the end of a big part of my life );

Well I am going to get off of here to go watch a movie.
